What is strategic foresight?

Strategic foresight represents structured, organized, and systematic ways of thinking, imagining, designing, and exploring the future as a space of possibilities to better prepare for change. It's not just about envisioning potential futures but doing so in a useful and valuable way, which can be for exploratory purposes or strategic decision-making.

Instead of asking “What will happen?”, foresight asks “What could happen?” and “What do we prefer to happen?” By challenging assumptions, extrapolating trends/emerging signals, building scenarios, and examining implications, foresight helps people see how today’s choices shape tomorrow’s outcomes.

Ultimately, practicing foresight expands our ability to see change coming, adapt with confidence, and build the future we want — not just the one we end up with.

Our process typically involves:

  1. Framing – Clarifying the key question and time horizon.

  2. Scanning the Horizon – Gathering signals and trends from across disciplines.

  3. Mapping the System – Identifying drivers, feedback loops, and leverage points.

  4. Forecasting - Building scenarios by crafting plausible and preferable futures to stress-test strategies and analyze implications

  5. Designing Pathways – Developing actionable insights, plans, and recommendations

My background has given me unique insights and skills. I began in tech and automation, where I honed my problem-solving and analytical abilities. I then transitioned into project management. I thrived on leading teams, managing complex projects, and delivering results in high-pressure environments.

My spiritual and mental career/life journey led me to obtaining a graduate degree in Foresight with the ultimate desire of making a positive difference to society and civilization at large. I am passionate about exploring the intersections of technology, culture, and innovation by leveraging my strengths in practicing foresight to help co-create a preferred future with clients by helping them anticipate and navigate disruptive change so they will be prepared for the challenges and opportunities of tomorrow.
